It’s a massive undertaking for the Osaka-based Capcom team, who will be developing Monster Hunter for next-gen consoles and PC for the first time ever. Because PC is so much more complex - with so many different builds and configurations - they’ve been forced to delay launching on our platform until a little after console.
In the last 16 years, over 600 modders have contributed thousands of new assets - including everything from art and music to complete towns and cities - to Tamriel Rebuilt, a community that’s constructing a mainland for The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, whilst preserving the game’s creative vision and direction.
To celebrate 16 years of the community, the team has released a (above) showcasing the latest version of the mod.
Looking for more on Morrowind? Here’s how
“Tamriel Rebuilt was formed on the Elder Scrolls forums with the goal of one day bringing the Morrowind mainland, and at the time the rest of Tamriel, to The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind once it released,” the states. “Over 16 years later and the team at Tamriel Rebuilt, while largely changed, is still working hard and striving everyday towards that goal of making a unified Morrowind.”
Ubisoft have earned themselves something of a reputation for leaning heavily on established open-world design tenets and proven successes. It’s there in the way ideas that emerge in one series then go on to permeate the company’s portfolio. Most infamously, this includes climbing towers, or at least activating them, to reveal more of the world map. And the now stultifying spread of side missions and collectables that feel more like a punishment than fun distraction.
While you're waiting for Far Cry 5 to arrive, .
In reacting to players’ fatigue, Ubisoft’s network of studios risks sidling into yet another design cul-de-sac. Far Cry 5 and Assassin’s Creed Origins have both , and in exchange Origins has an eagle while Far Cry 5 gains a dog, both of which seem suspiciously close to meat-based versions of Ghost Recon Wildlands’ enemy-tagging drone .
The Call of Duty Days of Summer event may be one of the most ridiculous-looking things Activision have done, but it’s netting Infinite Warfare players a free map, along with a whole swath of other summer-themed content.
Here is everything we know about . As the ridiculous surfer guy in the trailer explains, there’s plenty of summer-related regalia to deck both your weapons and soldiers out in, like one with sunscreen on his nose. Check that out.
After weeks of speculation, new AMD and Nvidia-based cards have been announced designed specifically to cater for the growing demands of cryptocurrency mining. What we don’t know, however, is what impact that will have on GPU availability for us gamers… and no-one is willing to talk about it.
These are tough times, but there are still GPUs to be had, so check out our guide to the available today.
You’ve probably noticed graphics cards are either rare as donkey eggs or more expensive than a night with Brian Blessed right now. That’s because new cryptocurrencies (think Bitcoin, only more likely to crash taking your money with them) have appeared which can be easily mined using modern, mainstream graphics cards.

Sega are hoping that 2017 will be the year of a Sonic renaissance. Two new platformers for PC (and console) are in development: Sonic Mania and Sonic Forces. Both are due to release at a similar time later this year. Moreover, Takashi Iizuka, head of Sega’s Sonic Team, assures me that he’s now in charge of overseeing all Sonic products. This tighter grip should mean fewer third-party titles of questionable quality.

And yet, Sega have taken the radical step of entrusting a title in their flagship franchise to a bunch of indies. Though they’re working in close partnership with Sega, Sonic Mania is being made by devs hand-picked from Sonic’s fan community, many of whom have ported, modded, or remastered the original classics from the Mega Drive era.

The best gaming motherboard probably isn't going to be as exciting as upgrading to a , but your choice of board still has a huge impact on the rest of your rig. Gaming motherboards don't tend to get the glory their sexier compadres do, but they just might be one of the most important bits of kit in your gaming rig.
Check and for the best prices and specs on gaming motherboards.
You’re not going to suddenly discover a super speed boost because of your new mobo, but picking your ideal gaming motherboard will determine just what kind of machine you’re going to be able to build around it. Your choice of board dictates how big your final PC build will become, what processors and memory you can jam into it, how many graphics cards you can stretch to, and what sort of storage options you’ll have available too.
While BioWare knows there’s a fanbase crying out for a Jade Empire sequel, the studio’s not yet committed to a follow-up… although Dragon Age’s creative director, Mike Laidlaw, admits the developer “certainly had some plans” for Jade Empire 2.

“I don’t wanna say that there isn’t a passion to build it, because we haven’t built it… it’s more that you need passion, you need talent, you need the right people, and the right team... and then capacity, right?" Laidlaw told Josiah Renaudin in .
The Overwatch League is contacting top Overwatch players and inviting them to participate in a scouting report to share with competitive team owners.
In a , Commissioner of Overwatch League, Nate Nanzer, confirmed the Overwatch League Office was intent on building “a robust ecosystem that will support and grow competitive Overwatch” and had contacted a “select group of top players” to participate in the survey.
Holding out for a hero? Here’s everything we have on .
To be on the League’s shortlist, players must have had a top-500 finish (based on skill rating) in Seasons 3 or 4, reached a playoff finish in a recent “high-caliber tournament” such as APEX Season 2, or qualify under “other distinguishing qualifications indicative of top-tier talent”.
Being a top player in and of itself isn’t enough, though. To be considered, all players must be in good standing in the community, be of age, as well as able to lawfully participate in professional competition.

Make the move to a modern solid state drive, you won’t regret it. Especially if you choose from our pick of the .
The new Intel SSD 545 is, on the surface, a pretty standard mainstream SATA SSD. It’s a 512GB drive, running on the old-school hard drive interface giving it a the traditional SATA performance limitations. That means, in transfer speeds, the new drive is nothing to write home about; its 550MB/s and 500MB/s sequential read/write performance is about what we’d expect from a decent SATA SSD.
Blizzard has introduced a new system that enables Hearthstone players to keep buying card packs in China.
Well. Sort of.

Explore, expand, exploit, ex… citing? Yes, that’s definitely how it goes. The term ‘4X’ may only have been coined by strategy guide writer Alan Emrich as recently as 1993, but the concept of guiding a nation/space fleet/strange fantasy species across generations through diplomacy, war, and technological progress has already proven to have endless appeal. (And yes, the last X stands for exterminate, for those cracking their knuckles and heading for the comments section.)

The genre owes much to Sid Meier’s Civilization series, but we thought we’d show a bit of love to the other games that have helped elevate the 4X genre to achieve the prestige it enjoys today. Here are the best 4X games to keep you one-more-turning.
Those who have been following the most recent World of Warcraft expansion, Legion, will know the community's been particularly watching the progression race this time around. That's the unofficial competition between the world’s best players to be the first guild or group to clear a new raid once it is released.
Tomb of Sargeras’ Mythic version - the hardest the game has to offer and the one on which all pride is put - was released today, kicking off this race for the fourth time in the expansion.
Read more about in our interview with some of the top guilds just before the last raid opened.
It's something of a two-horse competition this time round, as many of the top competitors from the Nighthold - including one of the guilds we interviewed in the link above - have given up on hardcore progress raiding. Method and Exorsus, who have three of the four world firsts this expansion so far, are front runners and likely to take the crown.

A Spanish gaming event called Gaming Ladies was announced yesterday, with the aim of highlighting the best female talent in the industry. Today it was cancelled, thanks to the efforts of angry internet nerds.
The event was due to take place in King's offices in Barcelona. Four panels were planned, to celebrate prominent industry women and for networking purposes. However, the internet did its thing.
People took to Spanish forums to complain about the event not allowing males to enter, and it degraded from there to abuse being hurled at the organisers.
Forocoches - which, from what I gather, is Spain’s 4Chan - was the worst culprit, filling up with men threatening to infiltrate the event.
One thread in particular suggested men pose as trans women and try to gain entry that way, so they could disrupt it from the inside.
