Thimbleweed Park Xbox One Review | Console Obsession

Added: 26.04.2017 20:44 | 1 views | 0 comments

Console Obsession says: "From Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick, two men that had involvement in such classic LucasArts games as Maniac Mansion, Zak McKracken and Monkey Island, comes this new point and click adventure, Thimbleweed Park, though does it live up to the standards of its predecessors? At the start of the game you play as two FBI agents, Agent Reyes and Agent Rays their names alone should give you an idea of the type of humour the game is aiming for both of whom are out to solve the mystery of a dead body, with events taking place in 1987. The game starts out simply enough, with you roaming around, clicking on anything and everything that is interactive or can be picked up or talked to, and along the way meeting some very quirky characters."

After 20 years Full Throttle remains a narrative video game masterpiece

In examining how gallant, restrained masculinity could function as an action-adventure ideal, the LucasArts game was way ahead of its time
The fact that developer Double Fine Productions has chosen to remaster the classic 1995 point-and-click adventure Full Throttle isn’t in itself remarkable. The LucasArts titles of the mid-1990s are widely , and we have already seen updates of stablemates Grim Fandango and Day of the Tentacle.
What is remarkable is that the strength of the narrative design, silly gags and beautiful vistas hasn’t diminished at all. Holding a PS4 controller in front of the new version, it’s obvious that the 20-year-old game is 10 times more ambitious than most commercially-made video games today. Not in the action of the game, in which your biker man Ben merely solves increasingly obscure puzzles involving the collection and application of objects to scenery (most memorably illustrated in the classic command “Slam face on bar”). No. What makes its legacy is something much teresting than how many puzzles the game has, or how difficult they are to solve.

22 Years Later, Full Throttle Remastered Arrives Today on PS4, PS Vita

Added: 18.04.2017 16:30 | 3 views | 0 comments

Full Throttle Remastered is out today, 22 years after it first hit store shelves back in April of 1995. It tells the tale of Ben Throttle, butt-kicking leader of biker gang the Polecats, who gets caught up in a tale of motorcycles, mayhem, and murder. Full Throttle was Tim Schafer's first game as sole project lead at LucasArts, and just like his other Lucas games, Day of the Tentacle and Grim Fandango, it soon became a beloved cult classic. We've already remastered those other two, and with this one we complete the trilogy of Tim Schafer LucasArts games.
