AOC AGON AG352UCG review: High-res, high-refresh & ultrawide. A panel that has it all?

Added: 26.05.2017 9:58 | 3 views | 0 comments

There was a definite feeling of deja vu having this familiar AOC monitor sprawled across my desk. That’s not necessarily a good thing, though, because it was born of the last AGON ultrawide we tested, and just how cross-eyed I got reviewing its hazy display. But while this new screen looks identical on the outside its upgraded spec-sheet makes for a far more palatable panel.
A quality display will likely outlast your current rig, so check out our guide to the to make sure you get the right one for you. AOC AGON AG352UCG review
The used a completely different curvy VA panel to present its image, but while it nailed a 200Hz refresh rate, the hazy motion and limited vertical resolution made it impossible to recommend.

Why 2017 is going to be the most diverse year of gaming yet

Added: 20.05.2017 12:48 | 8 views | 0 comments

Each year of gaming releases for the Xbox has traditionally tended to offer a glut of certain genres. But for those who are getting tired of the endless wave of first-person shooters, it seems as though our games developers are being a little more creative in 2017. Obviously there are plenty of first-person shooters like Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 and Destiny 2 on their way, but for anyone who wants to explore less popular gaming genres, there’s plenty to look forward to. Hack and slash games have been massive in Japan for many years now, and it’s hoped that the highly rated For Honor can overcome its rage-quitting controversy to become one of the big Xbox hits of the year. Of course there are plenty of action adventure titles, and with everything from the alien-drenched Prey to the pirate-themed Sea of Thieves on offer, there should be something for all tastes. And there’s endless horror titles to look forward to for anyone who’s managed to overcome the terror of Resident Evil 7. Pick of the bunch has to be the hugely exciting Vampyr, although Outlast 2 could be a contender for the scariest game of the year. Whilst all of these games show of the powers of your Xbox One to great effect, there’s something fun about playing a good platformer on a next-gen console. And 2017 looks to have plenty of cool platform games like Sonic Mania, Yooka-Laylee and Cuphead, as well as the intriguing puzzle platformer Snake Pass. Sadly there are still no traditional casino games on the horizon, so you’ll have to act like a true millennial and use your smartphone to play games at a site like Lucky Nugget Casino. But thankfully we can look forward to plenty of other retro genres like racing and flight simulators in 2017. Racing fans will be keen to get their hands on the exciting Micro Machines: World Series title, whilst Dirt 4 looks like it could be a surprise hit for Codemasters. Those who have stated that the Xbox One needs a good flight simulator will be glad to know that Combat 7: Skies Unknown is no longer a PlayStation 4 exclusive and will be coming to the Xbox later this year. And with plenty of narrative adventures like What Remains of Edith Finch, sandbox titles like Lego Worlds, and even a good old-fashioned point and click game like Thimbleweed Park on its way, it shows that those mobile casino games have got plenty of competition from the Xbox One.
